How to Create a Vision Board

A Vision Board is a great way to bring your dreams to a reality. Whether it is for your health or business. It can be a combo of both. In this article, I will show you how to create a Vision Board.

Why Should I create a Vision Board?

A Vision Board is a great way to manifest your dreams. Humans are visual creatures and it helps when we see the visions everyday. In Neuroscience, when you keep seeing something you want to achieve everyday, it allows you to take more actions contributing to those goals. Your neuro-signals keep getting primed and retraced. This happens so much so that your subconscious mind is influencing your conscious mind. You are going to be taking more intentional actions towards your goals without even knowing it!

The Basics

Identify your overall Vision. It takes roughly a year or so for your board to come to reality. Don’t worry as much about the time frame or the how. It will happen.

Follow these steps to Create Your Vision Board

  1. Grab a Piece of Paper, Canva, Pinterest, or something else you can create your Vision Board.
  2. Come up with your Overall Intention
  3. Have Supporting Intentions, Values, and Ideas
  4. Try not to get Material with this (one or two material figures are fine)
  5. Be Creative
  6. Write down everything
  7. Grab Images for what you’d like to see with each thing you write down
  8. Put it on the board
  9. Place somewhere you can see everyday
  10. Refine and Edit as needed (Try not to edit too much, it helps to start with a clear vision and narrow down from there)
  11. Don’t worry about the how, it will come in ways you wouldn’t expect it

Setting Intention

When Coming up with your Vision Board Intention do something that aligns with your values. That’s what will make it work. If not, the vision board won’t bring your dreams to a reality.

Setting your intention can look like multiple things. For example, “I want to live a life of fulfillment, happiness, and abundance”. This is the biggest thing on my Vision Board and it is straight in the center. That’s my personal preference, but you can put it anywhere on your board. I use a bubble spider type of deal. Below is my 2022 Vision Board rough Draft. I plan on editing it a bit more and then adding pictures.

My Vision Board Rough Draft

Notice how the center of the vision board is an intention based off my values. The surrounding goals support those. Helping others makes me feel fulfilled and having a stable place to live creates more balance in my life. I would love to expand my coaching business a bit more so that will be edited, and I would like to expand my yoga and Reiki Practice to a physical location.

Most of the vision board is not material so be sure to be clear on your values and intentions and what would truly support them. A gold watch is cool, but it isn’t aligned with my values and it doesn’t do much.

Customize Your Board

Put your personal touch on your Vision Board. Maybe even Meditate on it. I find that helps me refine it. Even coming back to your “Why” is helpful. Mine is to help others live healthier lives. Most of my board contributes to that or making sure I’m taking care of myself. Balance is key. Add images that mean something to you. It’s the associations with them that count. Not what others would think of it. This is for you, not anyone else. As you go through the year you may want to add another picture or even upgrade one of them, and that’s okay. When you do this, make sure it is from a place of abundance and not fear/lack. Everything will come to you in time.

Summary

Allow your Vision Board to be a reflection of your authenticity and what you would like to see in the next year or so. Don’t put too much pressure on it. Allow it to be in a place you can see it daily( I put mine on my closet door).

Create a structure for your board, pick short phrases/simple words, have the most important as the biggest, have images with it. Edit it as inspiration strikes. There is never too big on your board. Obviously, there is reason, but anything is possible.

A Vision Board programs your subconscious mind to take subtle actions to what will help you get to your goals on your vision board. Trust it, have faith in it, and it will happen. It may not be exactly how you imagined, and that’s okay.
